Today is the anniversary of my first date with Nick. He's been my sweetheart for ten years!

This picture was taken in May of '02, about 1 year after we started dating. I'm sure I could dig out some that were taken earlier, but this one was handy on my nightstand. I took a picture of the picture with my iPhone (Hipstamatic app). Is that project 365 cheating? I think I'll chance it.

{waving "hi" to baby bird} - iPhone pic

As Kate ate her breakfast this morning, we noticed a baby bird sitting on the fence right outside the window. It must have just been learning to fly, because it sat very still there for at least 20 minutes. Its mama came a couple of times to feed it. Kate repeated "brrr" ("bird") over and over again and said "fffff" every time I mentioned that the mama was bringing him food.
Breakfast was fun this morning.

Kate and I ran to Lowe's today, and while I was looking at the lamps, Kate started going berserk - rocking in the cart and jabbering away. It took me a second to realize what was so exciting, but then I saw them... all those fans. Kate's been fan-crazed the last few days, asking "what's this?" every time she looks up. Not sure what the fascination is, but I think we've found a new "cool" spot!
